Mason in Michigan (US) decided to create this lit fish out of empty detergent bottles from their local recycling centre as part of their Christmas parade. We fell in love with their idea.

We were not only taking by the etherial visuals of but also the inspiration behind the design:
"Inspired by the lightness of dandelions, the Fiela Feather Arc Lightᵀᴹ has been designed to create angelic ambiance over dining and lounge spaces. It has been named after Dalene Mathew’s book “Fiela se Kind”. This heart-warming South African story is set in Oudtshoorn, the same ostrich farming district where the feathers that form the diffuser, are sourced. The soft white feathers which give the energy saving CFL lamps a warm natural glow are arranged in a spherical flower petal pattern.
The arc light frame pays homage to the archetypal Arco light by Achille Castiglioni and is made from recycled stainless steel and reconstituted stone. The feathers are a natural renewable resource with each ostrich growing enough feathers over its 50 year lifespan to make approximately 30 Fiela Feather lights." - Haldane Martin
