Africa Fashion Day Berlin presents Fashion Dinner @ Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin
Founder of Apya Productions
and the Africa Fashion Day Berlin Beatrace Oola welcomes guests to this
intimate and exclusive dining experience.
The event will serve as a
platform for designers to showcase and network with press and buyers and will
also launch the onlineshop UnseenPieces.
Unseenpieces.com is an online
shop with a selection of limited exclusive collections by young international
designers for the discerning shopper.
Guests will enjoy a
three-course dinner followed by a fashion presentation as well as a special
collaborative tribute to Nelson Mandela by ((blackstereo)) and Afridyssey.
This season also spells the first year anniversary of Africa Fashion Day Berlin. Showcasing designers are Namibia’s
Young-Designer-of-the-Year-2013 winner Nicola Konradie, British Vogue’s
new-designer-to-watch Sarah Ama Duah (Hamburg), award-winning Adama Paris
(Senegal) and jewellery designer Kim Riedel (Bahamas). Befitting for an anniversary there should be a first and Africa Fashion Day Berlin will present trailblazing menswear designer BSB (Portugal/Guinea Bissau), who came into the spotlight with Udo Lindenberg wearing his suits. It will hopefully make way for more menswear designers on this unique platform.
In July Africa Fashion Day Berlin again exposed German audiences to designers from the African continent and
diaspora, this time under the patronage of Mrs. Dr. Auma Obama.
Africa has developed a
booming fashion landscape with new fashion capitals such as Cape town, Lagos,
Dakar and Accra. Africa Fashion Day Berlin introduces the pan-African design
scene to Berlin. Creating exclusive events with international flair whilst
celebrating afropolitan fashion designers.
The first platform of its
kind in Germany, Africa Fashion Day Berlin is an exciting and pioneering new
platform for designers of the African Diaspora. Africa Fashion Day Berlin introduces modern,
cosmopolitan fashion inspired by the African aesthetics as well as global
trends.
Africa Fashion Day Berlin thank their sponsors and cooperative partners Buchbinder, Hotel
Tiergarten Berlin, Gallerie Lafayette, Mani Restaurant, Simon-Hartman, Sushi
Circle, Blackline Limousines, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and
Development (BMZ) and Tamaris.
