Exploring Nollywood

Following up on the '...-ywoods' musings. Since we failed to list at least one Nollywood movie, check out the multi-award winning 'Anchor Baby' with BET's Sam Sarpong who is not also an actor, presenter and music artist but also one of the most successful male models having been the face of Hilfiger for five consecutive years.

Between us we have seen maybe  a handful of Nollywood movies and from what we seen on TV on the Nollywood front (the good the bad and the downright ugly) that even when some of the execution leaves much to be desired you will find some gripping story telling which will contrast any failing in other areas more. That being said one has to consider the often scarce resources available. Like anything in due time this industry will grow and evolve. Either way it has entertainment value and should be supported to reach it's full potential.
Here are some enjoyable and hugely successful Nollywood production on par with the quality and execution of productions in the US and Europe. While we weren't surprised despite our limited experience of Nollywood some of our accquaintace were either shocked by the quality of these movies coming out Nollywood or if they seen the other spectrum the lack of quality. We think like any film industry you will find anything from Blockbuster-material to not even the b-budget but z-budget movies.
